In an ongoing exploration for digital weirdness on the internet, I’ve been pondering the ways we represent ourselves in digital space.

Here is a thread of cool digital spaces I am compiling:

I wrote a bit about my intentions here and recorded a video brainstorm here. I am looking to expand my own conceptions of what it means to have a “website” or “home” on the internet. How does one website relate to another?

Yesterday I came across a nice Tweet from a mutual on Twitter, Ben that hinted at similar thinking.

I noticed Ben was thinking in similar terms as me, looking to reconstruct the ways we organize communities on the internet. He even used the idea of a home as a representation of a website. This isn’t new to either of us, but it is still important.

I am happy to say polymathematics.net has moved into a new neighborhood. It is dynamic and evolving, after all isn’t that the best part of the internet? We are building homes and neighborhoods in cyberspace, and we aren’t bound by concrete foundations or building codes.

Anyway, consider constructing a new digital home for yourself (or hit me up to help you build one!). Consider building instead of renting from a cookie cutter digital developer like Instagram or Squarespace. And check out Ben’s site and the other folks in the neighborhood. Lots of cool stuff being iterated on and experimented with. Let’s keep the internet weird.

And, consider moving in! If I may be so bold as to suggest prerequisites I’d keep it simple: bring your authentic personality, point of view, and a willingness to experiment.
